Staff Spotlight

Forester II

During my 27 years of Public Service, I have grown from a Forester I to a Forester II, where I now supervise teams to ensure compliance with Forestry regulations. I have a genuine passion for what I do-whether it is planting trees or climbing El Tucuche in the rain to collect specimens, every moment in nature fuels my passion for conservation.
For myself and my team, Forestry is a lifelong commitment, and the job is deeply rewarding. My advice to aspiring Foresters is to build a real connection with nature. There's never a dull day in this field, and every challenge brings new opportunities to grow."

Public Management Consultant III

I have dedicated 33 years to serving in the Public Sector, starting my career at the Ministry of Trade and Industry as a Temporary Clerk I and later spending a significant 10 years thus far in the Ministry of Public Administration (MPA). Currently, I am part of the Public Management and Communication Division (PMCD), where I enjoy engaging in work that is both stimulating and fulfilling. My role involves developing process maps, reviewing draft notes from clients, verifying information, making thoughtful comments, and ensuring the accuracy of justifications provided.
The public service sector offers an abundance of opportunities for growth and development. It's a rewarding field that provides you the chance to contribute directly to the betterment of society. Although the challenges are many, the sense of accomplishment and the positive impact you can have on the community are worth every effort.

Animal Health Assistant

With 9 years of experience in the Public Service, I've built a fulfilling career as an Animal Health Assistant. Growing up with a natural connection to animals, I pursued my studies at UTT, where my passion for Large Animal Food Production grew. In my role, I support Veterinarians by providing care to livestock such as pigs, cows, goats, and poultry.
The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I contribute to both animal welfare and public health; providing safe and sustainable food for the nation. My advice to anyone interested in this field: Be passionate and driven. When you love what you do, it doesn't feel like work. Maintenance Planner

The Public Service is like a family; supportive, collaborative and united by a shared purpose to serve the country. Over my 14 years in this field, when major shutdowns occur, the urgency of myself and my colleagues to restore power supply as quickly as possible is unparalleled, especially when it means ensuring that vital services, like the Children's Hospital continue to operate smoothly.
If you want to work in the Public Service, particularly in the Engineering field, you need a genuine passion for what you do, along with a dedication and commitment to serving your country. It is not just about the job, it is about making a real impact.

I have been in the service for 15 years and currently work as a Teacher II. Coming from a musical family with a strong connection to the arts and culture, I've always had a passion for music. My journey had its ups and downs, but the rewarding moments come from encouraging and motivating students to explore their full potential and hone their talents.
One of my greatest joys is seeing students gain confidence through music and perform on stage. For those interested in this field, my advice is to understand the joy of music and teaching, and to always motivate and encourage your students while making learning fun.
