This position will oversee the development and execution of public health education programmes to reduce the negative consequence of tobacco use. The responsibility of this position is to develop and deliver tobacco education and prevention programmes on Tobacco Control Act and National Tobacco Programmes to a variety of audiences.

Performs highly complex functions related to the overall monitoring and evaluation of the Ministry’s Tobacco Control Programme. Provides leadership for the conduct of surveillance and surveys. Monitors and analyses information with respect to tobacco related issues.

Direct and supervise GIS Analysts in building of solutions.

Liaises with the Tobago HIV/AIDS Coordinating Committee (THACC), the Ministry of Health and relevant US agencies e.g. Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and US Agency for International Development (USAID) to account for project fund disbursements and expenditures in accordance with the financial requirements of the funding agency and the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

The incumbent in this position is required to coordinate activities related to disaster preparedness, response, mitigation and disaster recovery. He/she must collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategies for disaster prevention and monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of disaster mitigation strategies.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the Ministry of Health meets its obligations in respect of the implementation of international and regional agreements and protocols.

Giving support to the Senior Clinical Auditor, Epidemiology in monitoring and evaluating the quality of care delivered by clinicians in public health institutions.

The Change Co-ordinator is responsible for providing full time support for the Manager of the Change and Transition Management Unit in the implementation of the Integrated Change and Transition Management effort.

The Bio-statistician will provide technical advice and assistance in statistical methods, data processing and computing for surveillance programmes, research and assessment activities of the Directorate of Women’s Health and the National Breastfeeding Co-ordinating Unit.

Provides technical advice and assistance in statistical methods, data processing and computing for surveillance programmes, research and assessment activities for the Epidemiology Division at the National Level.
