Supervises and instructs Community Nurses in approved methods and techniques of public health nursing in accordance with policies of the Ministry of Health and the Nursing Council. Provides nursing care to patients of the Queen’s Park Counselling centre and Clinic and Field Clinics.

Works with the Director of Health Services Quality Management Unit and other key stakeholders to develop performance indicators, bench-marks, quality award criteria and models of care; work also involves conducting operational research and establishing systems for improved customer relationships.

The Health Social Worker has the responsibility for assisting patients and their families in overcoming psychosocial and
financial obstacles. Work involves the study, evaluation and interpretation of psychological, social, economic and environmental background of patients for use in the preparation of plans for their treatment and easing of financial and social burdens as needed

Work in close collaboration with the Standards and Protocol Officer and Health System Research Officer to develop the audit/ monitoring element of the Quality Improvement Programme. Work includes conducting quality reviews and surveillance audits throughout the Health Sector.

To assist the Standard and Control Officer in achieving the Directorate’s objectives by engaging in quality monitoring and control activities to ensure that established quality standards are being maintained.

To provide guidance to Heads of Division/Sections in the preparation of work plans and develop performance indicators for the Regional Health Authorities.

The incumbent in this position is required to provide support to the Senior Health Information officer in the collection and analysis of statistical data to determine trends in the health status of the nation. The incumbent prepares tables and analytical reports from the data collected.

An employee in this position performs responsible technical work in the field of Public Health Education in Sexual and Reproductive Health. Works includes giving lectures and demonstrations to groups, voluntary organizations and health personnel on matters relating to Family Planning, sexuality and family life.

This position will oversee the development and execution of public health education programmes to reduce the negative consequence of tobacco use. The responsibility of this position is to develop and deliver tobacco education and prevention programmes on Tobacco Control Act and National Tobacco Programmes to a variety of audiences.

Performs highly complex functions related to the overall monitoring and evaluation of the Ministry’s Tobacco Control Programme. Provides leadership for the conduct of surveillance and surveys. Monitors and analyses information with respect to tobacco related issues.
